Wow. Seems like athletes from Baguio are winning — should we say, dominating — the third Philippine Olympic Festival for Central Northern Luzon which is being held in Subic Bay, Olongapo. Here’s a report from the Inquirer on the feats of Baguio athletes. You can read the earlier reports here and here. Go, Baguio.

Here’s a video of an airsoft group based in La Trinidad, Benguet. The video gets repetitive when you reach the midpoint but the soundtrack still makes it interesting to watch. Nice editing too.
The group has a website here for those who are interested in joining STEALTH a.k.a. Special Tactics and Extreme Airsofters of La Trinidad Highlands.

I got tired just watching this. Kasla ka met lang nag-exercise no buya-em gamin. Does the guy resemble Jimmy Smits?

Ay kakabsat ken kakailiyan, hehe, i-promote ko man daytoy barbaro nga blog ko. I felt guilty and silly writing sponsored posts in this blog and in our other blog so I decided to come up with a new blog where I can do sponsored posts shamelessly. Eh dahil malapit na din ang Olympics and one of my first ever writing assignment years ago is to do an Olympic story so I decided to come up with The Olympian Blog.
I need your feedback on how to improve it further. It is still a work in progress so all suggestions, criticisms, etc. are welcome. Can I also shamelessly beg for a love link from your blogs? I will link back of course hehe.
Visit our newest blog here and fire away. Thanks, friends.
I was wondering about the results of CARAA or the regional athletic meet which pits high school and elementary athletes from the different provinces and, fortunately, Bong Cayabyab has this report in the Northern Philippine Times.
Here’s how the provinces and Baguio City ranked:
Baguio recorded 322-points in the elementary division and scored 474- points for the secondary level during the weeklong regional sports meet at La Trinidad Sports Complex and Benguet State University, Benguet province, which fired off Feb. 24.
Benguet emerged 2nd with 580 points; Mt. Province 3rd with 293, followed by Kalinga, Ifugao, Abra, and Apayao province, respectively.
Gag-gag-ay has a post on some of the winners which you can read here. Also, as long as we are talking about sports, check out Ramon Dacawi’s must-read article on the need for more sports coverage out there. We agree with him of course.
By the way, if you are interested in how the 2008 CARAA rankings changed from last year, check out the CARAA post we made a year ago.
Kudos to these guys who have been carrying the Cordillera banner in national and international competitions.
Congratulations and best wishes too to those who qualified to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Wushu Tournament which, according to wikipedia is not part of the Olympic Games but is a tournament to be held in Beijing during the Olympics. Apparently, the IOC didn’t recognize wushu as either an official Olympic event or a demonstration sport.
So jumping up and down a trampoline is accepted as an official medal event while a combat sport like wushu is not? How biased is that, IOC?
As promised, here is our post on Reynold Domalsin, the Igorot body builder who has successfully followed his father’s footsteps. Like his dad, Reynold has a number of body building titles to boast of the latest of which is Mr. Asia Pacific 2007 (Nabba International). Here’s a photo of Reynold with his female counterpart, Ms. Asia Pacific.
